SPECIAL OFFER.......
AIM Europe is offering Half Price Harmonic Surveys
with reported results. The Survey would be paid for as normal on completion
however should the survey result in the purchase of an AIM Active Harmonic
Conditioner from AIM Europe, half the cost of the harmonic survey will

AIM AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL......
AIM Europe won the order to install AIM Active Harmonic
Filters in the prestigious Royal Albert Hall venue. AIM Filters are
required to mitigate the destructive harmonics generated by the UPS
system backing up the RAH power requirements.
PQA MEASURING UP TO 49TH HARMONIC.......
AIM Europe can now offer a Power Quality Analyser that measures
harmonic data up to the 49th Harmonic. This can be fitted into our Enclosed
AIM Filters or supplied loose with the Chassis AIM Filters. To receive
further information or a quotation please contact

ENGINEERING RECOMMENDATION G5/4-1
BRINGS GREATER INDUSTRY EMPHASIS ON HARMONICS.......
'Engineering Recommendation G5/4 replaced
the former Electricity Council Engineering Recommendation G5/3,
which had been in place since 1976, during which period the network
has seen a vast expansion of the numbers of rectifiers used both
industrially, in terms of drives and controls, rail traction supplies,
in the office environment within IT and in domestic appliances.
There has been a tendency for distortion
levels, especially the 5th harmonic, to increase although it is
generally considered that consumer equipment is the main source
of this distortion. G5/4 also introduced areas new to regulation
in the UK, including sub-harmonics, interharmonics, and voltage
notching.
The original edition of G5/4 included certain
limits which were to be applied from 1st January 2005. However,
after discussion with industry it was agreed to modify this requirement,
and this has resulted in G5/4-1:2005'
